In May, Macon (GA) Director LaTonja Brown volunteered to go to jail to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Before calling on friends, family, colleagues and associates to help her raise her required $500 bail, Brown was “arrested” at the facility by Bibb Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Page. Dubbed the Macon Lock Up Campaign, the annual event, with a goal this year of $100,000, helps with research, and locally for camps attended by children suffering from MS. Brown reports being “sprung” thanks to the generosity of her co-workers in Dismas’ Macon, Orlando and Savannah facilities.
