Although resident Raymond Cobb Sr. did not secure employment during his residency at the Macon facility, he was very active in the community. He joined From Streets to Success, a local mentoring project where he mentored troubled youth ages 13-17 three days per week; volunteered at Daybreak Shelter two days per week in the Janitorial Department, and was dedicated to attending Word of Faith Ministries on Sundays with Dismas Volunteers Pastor Willie Carswell and his wife Denise. “Raymond made a positive impact on the community of Macon and will be missed”, said Kathy Smith, Director at Daybreak Shelter who gathered with others on the date of his release.
