Thirty residents from the Diersen Substance Abuse Program attended Reintegration Night, an event designed to introduce the clients to several community partners from throughout the city who can help with literacy, motivation, addressing barriers, housing, substance abuse, behavioral health, medical and dental issues, banking, Medicaid, legal issues, employment, nutrition, budgeting, clothing and more. The event, sponsored by Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, allowed the participants to spend time personally visiting with the different support groups. “The goal of the night is to provide hope to re-entering citizens by giving them easy access to community partners in one setting and letting them know the community cares about them and wants them to do the next right thing,” said Director Ronyal Horton. Dinner and door prizes were also part of the event.
