Dismas Charities Owensboro Director T. C. Cox and Counselors Nick Hayes and Jarrod Anderson attended the Daviess County Treatment Providers Community Forum about Heroin in Kentucky, with an emphasis on the Daviess County/Owensboro area. Guest Speaker State Representative Joni Jenkins spoke about her personal family issue with heroin and of the Good Samaritan Bill she is backing. The legislation would allow those who are actively using heroin to call the police and/ or EMT’s for a fellow addict who is overdosing or has overdosed without the caller getting in trouble. Three panelists, Dr. RonSonlyn Clark, River Valley Behavioral Health, Daviess County Circuit Court Judge Joseph Castlen, and Owensboro Police Sergeant Jeff Roby also participated.
