Diersen Charities Las Cruces Assistant Director Irma Smith (right) volunteered in a local golf scramble to raise money for Hope Centers, a non-profit organization focusing on providing food to the poor around the globe. Also active in the Las Cruces community, Hope Centers provide school supplies to children and help feed the city’s poor. But of significance to Smith is that the organization also provides assistance to the elderly in her native country of Lithuania. Pictured with Smith is Hope Director Sue Yeager. “Hope Centers motto is to serve the poorest of the poor and Diersen Charities Las Cruces happily donated $300 dollars to assist in that cause,” said Director Samuel Campos. The sign held above identifies Diersen Charities Las Cruces as a sponsor of the event, which drew nearly 100 participants.
