Dismas Charities Charleston Resident’s Grateful Mother Shows Appreciation

When a black sedan entered the parking lot of the Charleston facility, Director Jim Sands, noting that visitors haven’t been allowed since March, went to investigate. The car, Sands found, was occupied by the mother of a resident who wished to remain anonymous, but wanted to donated baked goods to the residents to show her appreciation for her son’s treatment while at Dismas. “Our anonymous donor said she feels like Dismas has assisted her son in finally ‘breaking the chains’ that have bound her son to the revolving criminal justice system door,” Sands said. She donated cheese cakes, peach cobbler, apple, pumpkin and pecan pies and other baked goods that were all prepared by Cook Leighann Harmon (pictured here).
