During the facility’s monthly Staff Meeting, the Montgomery Fire Department was invited to speak on “Life Safety Fire Preventive Measures”. Staff gathered outside to learn and participate in the correct steps to using a fire extinguisher by applying the acronym PASS (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep). Staff were also taught the different types of extinguishers: Class A for solids, such as paper, wood, and plastic; Class B for flammable liquids, such as paraffin, petrol, and oil; Class C for flammable gases such as propane, butane, and methane; Class D for metals such as aluminum, magnesium, and titanium; Class E for electrical, and Class F for cooking oil and fat. Above Counselor Santana Lumpkin demonstrates what she’s learned.
