To show their appreciation for making a substance abuse and mental health grant a success, the staff of Workforce Development for the Opportunities Industrialization Centers of South Florida (OICSFL) had lunch delivered to all Dismas Charities Dania Beach staff in early September. Anthony Robinson, OIC Director wrote the following: “On behalf of all of us at OIC and the SAMHSA Team (Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration), we are extending our sincere thanks to all of the staff at Dismas who helped to make this 3-year SAMHSA grant a success. Without you and our teamwork this program could not have been a success.” The grant was used to help individuals with substance abuse or a mental health history with counseling and to offer a diversity of programs, training and job placement. SAMHSA is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. SAMHSA’s mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America’s communities.
