Orlando staff members brought in home baked or purchased cookies, brownies, pies, and cakes and raised $157 for their annual fundraiser. This year’s recipient was the October 18 Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, an event in which both residents and staff participated. Last year’s beneficiary was breast cancer research. The facility also furnished soft drinks and ice cream for this year’s event. Enough items were left over to offer the sale again during visitation the following weekend. The facility is also offering a Jeans Week in which staff are allowed to wear blue jeans in exchange for a monetary donation to the Alzheimer cause.
