Dismas Charities Atlanta Counselors Teach Real Life Experiences To Middle School Students

7-29-2016

Dismas Charities Atlanta Counselors Dwayne McGough and Larry Boykins volunteered at Woodland Middle School for a program entitled Life 101 which incorporates career exploration, lifestyle choices, and life skills all in one. The program is designed to simulate real life and allow students to experience actual situations in order to grasp an understanding of adulthood. Students were required to complete college, obtain employment, pay student loans, obtain housing and handle financial responsibilities. They also experienced unexpected circumstances such as arrest, car accidents, and childbirth. The Dismas Counselors posed as car salesmen, responsible for selling students vehicles. The students had to obtain a vehicle that was suitable and reasonable for their monthly budgets.
