The non-profit organization I Am Somi Project hosted a Stand Up for Charity comedy show for the residents of the Atlanta program. The project was founded by Stephanie Davis, a former resident of the Atlanta program, who explained that in order to give back to the organization that assisted her in her transition, she organized the free comedy show for the residents, which consisted of both professional and amateur comedians. The event was made possible through the efforts of Comedian Greg Langford who secured a $5,000 donation to the Atlanta program, which will also be used for resident programming needs such as computers, recreational equipment, and assisting them with educational goals, according to Director Stephen Ricks. I Am Somi Project also collected donations for Christmas coats and toys for the resident’s children. The stars of the show (from left) are Shawn Harris, Greg Langford, Marti P, Sean P, and Marvin Hunter.
