Dismas Charities Savannah joined several other organizations March 23 to help with the Keep Savannah Beautiful campaign for a cleanup of the Carver/Village Heights neighborhood in the latest in a series of Great Savannah Cleanup events. Cleanup efforts included recycling, litter collection, cutting and cleaning bushes and mowing. Efforts also included helping seniors remove debris. Other than Dismas, volunteers came from Mt. Moriah No. 15, Coastal Transitional Center Corrections, Change LLC, Omega Psi Phi, Mu Phi Chapter, Sigma Tau Chapter, Gamma Sigma Omega Chapter and Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Other participants included the City of Savannah staff, Fire and Emergency Service, Savannah-Chatham Police, and several homeowners. The Great Savannah Cleanup runs through June 28 in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup. Keep Savannah Beautiful provides all the supplies.
