In February, Dismas Charities Savannah residents celebrated Black History Month by visiting the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum. Gilbert was a local leader in the quest for civil rights, including serving as president of the local NAACP chapter. In addition, 20 residents also attended a showing of the movie Selma. After the movie, one residents stated that he “didn’t realize that life was that bad for people of color, I definitely have a new understanding about the movement.”
