The Savannah-Chatham Re-entry Council, in collaboration with the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, Dismas’ Savannah facility and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia, hosted a conference to educate local business leaders of the incentives, strategies and solutions surrounding the employment of those recently released from incarceration. The conference, held February 17, featured remarks from U.S. Attorney Edward Tarver (center), Mayor Eddie DeLoach, Dismas Regional Vice President Jimmy Jones (left), District Attorney Meg Heap, Alderman Van Johnson, Chamber President Bill Hubbard, employers, and community leaders. A question-and-answer panel session, which included Savannah Director Katina Wheeler (right), concluded the event.
