On Thursday, December 22, 2016, Dismas Atlanta received a special visit from Platinum selling artist, Clifford T.I. Harris, a former resident of Dismas Atlanta. This holiday season, T.I ., initiated a program entitled “Tip’s Caravans” where he hand delivered gifts to children of families in need. One of the Caravan’s stops this year was the Dismas Atlanta facility. Dismas Atlanta staff instructed the residents to invite their children to the facility for a special surprise. More than 50 children were surprised and excited by the Platinum artist’s arrival. Each child received a gift and the opportunity to have their picture taken with the famous rapper. Not only did T.I make a special appearance at Dismas Atlanta, but he and Dismas Atlanta Staff also visited the Azalea Gardens community, the neighborhood that Dismas Atlanta adopted. The children there also received toys and gifts. T.I. also helped a family that was behind two months on their rent in The Azalea Gardens Community by taking care of the past due balance. With a huge assist from T.I., Dismas Atlanta was able to provide a special holiday surprise for the residents of Dismas Atlanta as well as those that reside in the Azalea Gardens community.
