Because of the generosity of an anonymous donor, the residents of the Sioux City (IA) facility have embarked on a major garden project that includes raised wooded plots to cultivate vegetables and herbs. In addition, the donor purchased a 120-square foot shed, complete with flowered window boxes, to house tools, a small garden cart, supplies and gardening pots for winter storage. The produce, which includes summer squash, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, zucchini and cucumbers, is being used for residents and to support the local food bank.
