Louisville Councilman David James, a retired police officer and one-time head of its Gang Unit, was on hand in mid-May to conduct gang training for staff members from the various Louisville facilities. Twenty-eight employees were on hand to hear James, a member of the Community Relations Board. According to Louisville Director Sarah Weidner-House, there are 25 gangs in Louisville not including a number of youth groups. Dismas President Ray Weis and Regional Vice Presidents Faith Good and Joseph Theriot also attended.
