Two residents of the Diersen facility recently spoke to 25 girls from the Potter’s House Summer Camp, relating their life stories in an effort to help their guests understand the importance of making the right choices. The Cable Baptist Church-sponsored camp, which is open to those from 5-12 years of age and lasts eight weeks, offers life skills, reading, writing, math, art and a variety of field trips. The program is administered by Lisa Merriwether, former Director of Dis-mas’ Portland Child Development Center.
