St. Ann (KY) Director Mark Meredith was chosen as the motivational speaker during the January Brown Mackie College Occupational Therapy Assistant Program graduation. The celebration ceremony, as it was called, preceded the schools formal graduation, and was held to present each participant with a pen denoting them as certified Occupational Therapists. Seven of the graduates spent a 16-week period at Meredith’s facility as interns. Presenting Meredith with a memento to thank him for his support of the initiative is Debbie Thompson, OTA Site Coordinator and Department Chair. As part of his presentation, Meredith noted how preparation and opportunity equal success. He also challenged the students to become genuine, authentic, caring and understanding. “Many lives will share your fingerprints because of the initial impact you have on your patient.”
