The Transit Authority of River City (TARC) donated over $200 in pizza gift cards for the residents of the Portland facility who assisted during this year’s heavy March snow storms. Portland’s residents helped clean the 7-11 inches of snow and ice from the 5,000 bus stops in the city. Known as one of the TARC Dig Out Teams, the men also cleared sidewalks and mounds of snow piled high by snowplows. In other news, residents kept busy helping with various celebratory events preceding the Kentucky Derby: This included the Balloon Race and Balloon Glow; Thunder Over Louisville fireworks demonstration and the clean up after the Thunder event, and clean up after the Derby Marathon.
