Dismas Charities Portland Residents Thanked For Help In Tire Roundup

After residents from the Louisville-based Portland facility aided the Metro Department of Public Works with a Waste Tire Collection event in early November, they received a letter of commendation from Pete Flood, Compliance and Enforcement Manager for the department. His letter read, in part: “I want to extend our appreciation to your organization for working with the Department of Public Works for the Waste Tire Collection Event…. The cooperation granted to us by your organization played a huge part in the successof the event. The total number of tires collected was estimated at 20,000 passenger tire equivalents. That is an amazing number. We would also ask you extend our thanks to the men who worked very hard doing a dirty and difficult job. They were outstanding! They have done a great service for this community and we could not have done this without them.”
