Recently seven men from the St. Ann Substance Abuse Program graduated from the Master Life Book program, “a sequential, developmental, disciplining process that enables clients to make Christ their Master, and to master life by developing a personal, lifelong, obedient relationship with Him,” according to Reverend Joe Starks, Dismas Maintenance Supervisor and Leader of Bates Memorial Missionary Baptist Church Prison Ministry who runs the group. Under the guidance of a mature, modeling leader, clients learned how to practice basic Christian disciplines as they grow toward Christlikeness, Starks added. Clients displaying their certificates (from left) are Robert Weathers, Robert Byrd, Gary Laws, Jimmy Good, Allan Lovett, Justin Houze and Brad Alcorn.
