Scott Johnson, Jerramia Wilkerson, and Robert Standridge are the latest Portland residents to graduate from Cook Jamie Hall’s intensive Kitchen Skills Training Program. Hall created the Program to assist residents develop job skills.  Cook Hall provides certificates detailing these talents to prospective employers verifying their expertise. The students were taught how to efficiently and effectively work in a professional kitchen, how to use all kitchen equipment, safe food preparation and storage practices, principals of meal planning, cost control, basic theories of nutrition, effective kitchen staffing, time management, job search and interview strategies, receiving and warehousing procedures, essential cooking and kitchen hygiene and sanitation regulations.
