During National Reentry Week, former residents Stephen Goins and Johnny Nash, and recent, successful graduates of the North Mississippi Reentry Court spoke to current Tupelo residents about the pitfalls and mistakes they made upon release. A question-andanswer session followed with U.S. Probation Officer and RRC Liaison Chad Redditt. Goins and Nash served an average of 16 years on drug-related charges. The speakers were one part of a week of activities marking the national observance. A mock job fair was held at the end of the period. Residents were treated to a cookout with Resident Montrell Fleming (inset) grilling chicken and turkey smoked sausages. Cooks Dell Washington and Teresa Beene added baked beans, potato salad, and dip. Members of the Community Relationships Board were also invited to attend the event. The names of the residents that participated in the most Reentry Week activities were entered into the drawing for two Huddle House restaurant gift cards.
