Albuquerque Director Jack Morgan (left) and Assistant Director Kelly Bowman (right) were presented with Patriot Awards by the New Mexico Committee for Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR) on October 1. The award is given for contributing to ““National Security and Protecting Liberty and Freedom by Supporting Employee Participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve Forces”. Albuquerque Resident Monitor Damien Alvarez (center), a Senior Airman in the Air National Guard, 210th Red Horse Squadron, submitted Morgan and Bowman for the honor. Alvarez’s submission read in part, “My Employer has been very supportive for my service in both the Navy and the Air Force. I have been given great opportunities within my work place to help expand my abilities in regards to how I express my leadership and my situational awareness, which in turn I bring back to the Guard. I appreciate the fact that he asks about how I’m doing and how my family is doing with my sometimes long deployments.” Morgan also signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve which recognizes the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce and which encourages opportunities to employ Guardsmen and Reservists.
