Greensboro Director Dale Cauble joined representatives from the U.S. Attorney’s offices for the Middle, Eastern and Western districts of North Carolina, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, U.S. Probation, and the University of North Carolina to discuss what each organization is doing regarding reentry issues. One of the more positive aspects of the discussion was that the state’s Public Safety department is implementing reentry prisons for inmates within the last 12-18 months of their sentences at facilities close to where they will be releasing. The session was part of National Reentry Week.
