Diersen Charities Nashville Residents Build More Than Just Their Lives

Nashville residents build more than just their lives Three of our Nashville (TN) residents recently received certificates following an 8-week Job Readiness Basic Construction training program sponsored by Goodwill Industries. Classes included construction math and drawings, material handling, communication skills, framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, siding, flooring, painting, trimming, and hand and power tool operation. As part of the training, students were required to build birdhouses which were sold in Goodwill’s retail stores with the proceeds being used to fund future classes. At the completion of the program, the residents received letters of recommendation, and job placement assistance. Above Resident Kevin Robinson displays his handiwork. The other residents were Jeffery Everett, and Ashley Gooch.
