The El Paso facility held a School Fair event in order to give residents the opportunity to explore education options as well as ask admission representatives questions about programs in which they may have an interest. Schools in attendance were El Paso Community College, Vista College, Western Tech College, Kaplan College, Excel Learning Center, San Jacinto Learning Center, Milan Institute of Cosmetology, Center for Employment Training, and International Business College. Other agencies attending included the Department of Veterans Affairs and Upper Rio Grande Workforce. “We were able show our residents that support and an education is available to them despite their current life circumstances and the significant obstacles they are facing as they transition back into society,” said Director Yvette Colorado. Employment Specialist Omar Chavez and Social Services Coordinator Sarah Elguea organized the event.
