In mid-August, Laredo Assistant Director Felipe Jaime and Regional Vice President Joe Driver presented the Santa Monica Mission with over 79 pair of shoes and school supplies for the needy and at-risk children of the mis-sion. This is the 11th year the Dismas program has organized the event in cooperation with the U. S. Border Patrol, U.S. Probation and Wal-Mart. From left are Border Agent Jose Luna, Jaime, Father Joel Perez, with the Mission, and Driver. Since beginning the initiative, Jaime estimates the Laredo facility has donated over 800 pair of shoes.
