Resident Jesus Sotelo (second from right) was recognized by staff and residents of the Laredo program for completing a grueling Commercial Driver’s License course while a resident at the center. The 160-hour program, administered by Laredo Community College, gives Sotelo the title of Commercial/Professional Truck Driver I. As part of the recognition, Director Danny Reyes (right) had the certificate framed and honored Sotelo with a personalized cake and ice cream. “I found the reaction by residents and staff to be positively overwhelming,” said Regional Vice President Joe D. Driver (second from left). “It is this effort, empathy and leadership that truly heals the human spirit. Kudos to Laredo staff.” At far left is Home Confinement Case Manager Juan Cruz.
