In mid-May staff from the Midland (TX) facility, headed by Director Amy Vest (left), participated in the inaugural Eric Williams Race for Justice. The four-mile event, hosted by FCI Big Spring and held at Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke, was replicated at 13 other sites nationwide. The race, designed to award scholarship funds to criminal justice and law enforcement students and to raise awareness for law enforcement safety, is held in honor of federal corrections officer Eric Williams who was killed on the job in 2013. Other pictured from left are Counselors Daniela Espinoza and Frances Williams and Desk Clerk Frida Escamilla.
