FCI Three Rivers held a Mock Job/Information Fair for inmates preparing for re-entry. Over 30 offenders completed 16 hours of employment skills training focusing on resume writing, job search tips, confidence building, available resources and interviewing techniques. The event, sponsored by a number of local vendors, faith-based organizations, employers and state agencies, was also open to any inmate wanting to receive information and guidance on their release and/or community resources. The fair is the final step in completing an institutional pre-release course and is the ninth such event that the staff of Dismas’ Laredo program have attended. Dismas attendees included Laredo Director, Assistant Director, and Social Services Coordinator Daniel Reyes, Felipe Jaime, and John Berumen, respectively. Corpus Christi Director Michael Corona, Del Rio Case Manager Jesus Cuevas, and Regional Vice President Joe Driver. Each participant received a custom pen, thanking them for their participation.
