U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE ROADMAP TO REENTRY

As part of National Reentry Week, April 25-29, Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced the Department of Justice’s rollout of a “Roadmap to Reentry”, a comprehensive vision to reduce recidivism through reentry reforms at the Bureau of Prisons. National Reentry Week events are being held in all States and Dismas Charities programs are actively involved in these events. In the “Roadmap”, AG Lynch defines 5 evidence based principles which the BOP is adopting and which we are proud to note that Dismas has long embraced and incorporated into our existing practices. The Roadmap announcement is one part of the larger Criminal Justice Reform Actions which both the States and the Federal governments are being encouraged to address. These are exciting times in the world of Reentry and we welcome the opportunity to contribute our knowledge and resources to the success of these initiatives.
