Community Relations Board (CRB) meetings are very important affairs. And, of course, refreshments are always included. But the Charleston facility has taken refreshments a step further. Cook Jay (Tiny) Boggess (standing at right) prepares a feast. Consider that at the August CRB meeting the 37 attendees – a huge turnout by any standard – were treated to smoked beef brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, macaroni salad, and a peach/blackberry cobbler with ice cream for dessert. The meetings have gotten so big, reports Director Jim Sands (standing at left) that they borrow tables and chairs from a local church. “These meetings have also been extremely effective in solving problems among attendees from different agencies,” said Sands. “Had it not been for the CRB meetings, that would never have happened.”
