Cars and Careers in Charlotte

Charlotte Employment Placement Specialist, Kaitlyn Free, recently met with Nissan representatives Cedric  Dean, Ollin Dunford, and Rick Hill, along with District 3 Councilwoman, Tiawana Brown to discuss a new  program designed to help Dismas clients purchase vehicles.  

Mr. Dunford, the General Manager of two Nissan dealerships in Charlotte, expressed enthusiasm for the  initiative. This program will enable clients to buy used cars that have been repaired for approximately $1,500,  provided they can demonstrate stable employment and have no history of disciplinary action. Additionally,  Mr. Dunford has offered clients an incredible opportunity by training them and covering the costs of  automotive technician courses. Those who participate will be accepted into the Nissan apprenticeship  program, and Mr. Dunford will supply them with their own tools to prepare them for a successful career.  Congratulations to Ms. Free for establishing this valuable relationship that aims to better Heal the Human Spirit.
