Louisville Director Sarah Weidner received a phone call early last November from Stellar Snacks Human Resource Manager Latasha Freeman. Ms. Freeman requested permission for Dismas Charities Louisville Client Banks to attend an awards banquet at the Muhammad Ali Center on Saturday, November 8. He was to be honored with the company’s "Most Diligent Award." Freeman wanted to confirm approval before telling Banks about the recognition.

Residential Reentry Manager Mike Staruk quickly approved the request. Banks received the award only 60 days after joining Stellar Snacks. The recognition was given during the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards, sponsored by Stellar Snacks.

Within 90 days, Banks secured full-time employment and his own apartment where he resides while finishing Home Confinement.
