In a poignant reminder of the ongoing drug crisis, 1,410 Kentuckians lost their lives to drug overdoses in the last year, highlighting a significant public health concern. As part of Overdose Awareness Day last August, Dismas Charities Louisville (DCL) took action by adorning their gym with ribbons and hearts, each symbol representing one of the lives lost to this epidemic. Dismas Louisville's clients also engaged in Narcan Training, facilitated by Kentucky Harm Reduction, where they learned critical life-saving techniques. This initiative no only emphasizes the devastating impact of overdose but also provides individuals with the tools to help save lives in their communities.
